VALERIE JUNE COLSTON (nee BEVAN) June 1, 1924 - March 5, 2018 With daughter Chris by her side, June went to join her family. She was predeceased by Fred, her loving husband of 32 years, in 1976, a son, Graham, in infancy, and her daughter Jennifer in 2008. She leaves behind her daughter Christine Katrick; grandson David (Avery) Quesnel; granddaughters Laurie (Ray) Lowe; Heather (Rob) Katrick; and Mandy Quesnel; great-grandchildren Cheyenne, Kristin, Zack, Landon and Jensen; along with great-great grandson Caleb. June was born in Kew, England in 1924 to Archie and Mabel Bevan. She met her husband Fred Colston in Bath in 1942, married in 1944 and immigrated to Canada in 1957. She and Fred were terrific dancers and often at socials and weddings, the floor was cleared so people could watch them. The family have fond memories of making jam, receiving her knit or crochet gifts, needlepoints and ceramics. She was a great teacher and passed her artistic talents on to her family. She had a wonderful sense of humour and was often irreverent about death and dying. The family would like to thank the staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge and Oakview Extendicare for their wonderful care of June. As per her request, no service will be held. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her 94 birthday on June 1, 2018.
