ANNE BLAIN Anne passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Concordia Hospital. Anne was born January 6, 1920 in Sprague, Manitoba. She grew up in St. Boniface and attended King George School. Her first job was with Canada Packers then National Drugs, eventually retiring from the East Kildonan School Board, which was directly across the street from where she lived. Anne is survived by her loving family; son Brent; grandchildren, Jason and Sandra; great-grandchildren, Travis and Kirstin, as well families of Jim and Elsie Forsyth, Lynn and Keith Tracy, Bev Whitney and Eunice Whitney. She was predeceased by her husband Walter; son Brian and daughter-in-law Audrey; mother and father, Sara and William Whitney; sisters, Hazel Forsyth (Jim), Florence McNair (Al), Doreen McGee (Stewart); brothers, Victor and Bill Whitney. A very special thank you to Anne's neighbour and good friend Alice, she was always there for us. Anne loved her home and was adamant to remain there. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., with prior viewing at 12:00 p.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome in a celebration of Anne's life. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations may be made in Anne's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
