MARGARET REIMER Margaret Reimer was our much-loved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend. Despite facing various health issues as she aged, she continued to lovingly serve the people close to her until old age finally overtook her and she died peacefully at home in her sleep on March 22, 2018. Margaret is mourned by Harry, her husband of almost 66 years; son Brian (Lynne) Reimer and their children, Heather, Mark (Christy) and Jonathan; daughter Jane (Lionel) Martens and their children, Christie (Evan) Peters and Lindsay Martens (Matt Moore); and great-grandchild Ellis Finnegan Peters. Margaret was a vibrant, spunky, confident and selfless woman who had a special gift of caring for and encouraging others. Her ability to show up when needed with homemade soup and buns or feed a church with paska and peppermint cookies was legendary. She always had a listening ear, a word of wisdom and a welcoming heart, and made no end of room in her life for her grandchildren. Margaret found genuine delight in serving and did so with a smile, telling people that she found complete satisfaction in being a homemaker! She faced difficulty with grace and strength and aged with beauty and dignity, her faith an inspiration to many. Always dressed impeccably, with matching shoes and purse, she graced our lives and our memories with her stories and her songs and her servant hands. She left behind a powerful legacy. She will be greatly missed. A memorial service celebrating Margaret's life will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Portage Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church.

  • John and I send our sympathies. Was shocking to hear the news even though we knew she was not well. So thankful Audrey and I could have coffee with Margie and Harry in Fall, and then John and I dropped in later and you sent prayers for Johns Cancer surgery. I lived at your place during my nurses training and Brian and Jane were the sweetest children..only wish I would have played more with them. Your MOM was the best cook!! Harry...you were such an example of a beautiful marriage and now our prayers are with you through your most difficult time...and underneath are the everlasting arms!! love and sympathy John and Elaine - Posted by: Elaine Toews (Cousin) on: Mar 28, 2018
