Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAKOB HILDEBRAND September 28, 1931 - March 30, 2018 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear dad, grandpa and great-grandpa Jakob, who passed away peacefully at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his wife Irene (2006), and his great-grandson Jakob (2017). He will be sadly missed by his children Garey (Phyllis), Kelly (Bob), Darryl and Candy; along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was born in the Municipality of Montcalm, MB and moved to Winnipeg in his early 20s where he met Irene and together they raised their family in the Elmwood area. Dad was a professional painter his entire life, from painting grain elevators to million dollar homes. Dad's favourite sports team was the Toronto Blue Jays. He enjoyed golfing and gardening although playing darts was his passion. He had won many tournaments and was named darter of the year numerous times at the Elmwood Legion. The family would like to thank the staff at the Convalescent Nursing Home during his short stay. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. at Henderson Highway. Flowers gratefully declined, however donations can be made to the Children's Wish Foundation. www.voyagefuneralhomes.com

So sad to hear about the passing of Jake. Had some good memories of him at #9 Legion on Nairn. Good dart player. - Posted by: Alistair and Wilma Wark (friends) on: Apr 04, 2018

I was married to Darryl for 23 yrs. When it came to both Jake and Irene I could not have asked for better in-laws. Jake affectionately called me "Sweetheart" whenever he saw me. Although Darryl and I went our separate ways, I loved Jake very much. I only wish that I could have seen him one more time before he left this earth for better lands above. R.I.P. Jake. God has you in His keeping but I'll always have you in my heart. - Posted by: Roxanne Plante (Former daughter-in-law) on: Apr 04, 2018
