BORIS ROMAN FEDYSHYN July 29, 1951 - April 3, 2018 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and great friend Boris Fedyshyn at the age of 66. He was predeceased by his father John, sister Laresa and great nephew Cooper. He leaves his mother Paula, sisters Monica, Gloria, Patricia, Nadia, Elizabeth (Ernie), Irene (Jim), Dorothy, Linda (George) in Germany, and his brother Les, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins to cherish his memory. Boris was born in Winnipeg and spent most of his life living here. He loved his cars and his dogs, and had a keen eye for photography. Boris was kind and caring and would always help anyone in need. He loved and cared deeply about his nieces and nephews and treasured any time spent with them. Boris will be sadly missed but forever loved and adored by his family and friends. Thank you to Dr. Wong and the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for taking such good care of Boris. Also, thank you to the compassionate staff in the Palliative Care Unit 3 East at Riverview Health Centre for letting Boris live his final days with dignity. As per Boris' wishes, there will be a private service for his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare or the Winnipeg Humane Society in Boris' name.

It’s 3 days till April 3. I think of you every day and am wondering how I searched for so long and couldn’t find you. Never stopped caring. Never will. You passed away on my son's 26th birthday. Wished we would have stayed together the last time we got together. Love always, Leslie Ann. - Posted by: Leslie Snowdon (Special friend) on: Mar 31, 2019

Boris and I were school mates at Wentworth school. We were best of friends at the time. He was very good at baseball. Sorry to hear of his passing. I remember his family well. They lived next door to us on Commercial St. in Rosser. (now Winnipeg) - Posted by: Ervin Dieter (friend) on: Feb 16, 2019

He was my first real love, and will always be in my heart as my only real love. In spite of some tough times in our relationship I never stopped loving him. I looked for him for many years, but he just disappeared. I have an entire album of pictures that I keep close by. That was his passion, photography. I have many great memories of his entire family. My only regret is that I didn't get to say goodbye. I spend many days wondering about his life in the past 30 years. Thank you to Irene for letting me know of his illness. I would still be searching for him. - Posted by: Leslie Snowdon (Girlfriend from the earlier days) on: Oct 04, 2018

The Fedyshyns are a wonderful, loving family. Monica and I were closest friends for years. Amongst a sea of siblings, Boris really stood out. I loved his big, broad smile, his sturdy build that real caring and kindness that shone through his eyes. I'll be sad to share the news of Boris' passing with my ex-husband, Rick who will also be saddened. He was a loving and helpful brother to dear Monica and Paula. I'd like to take this opportunity to say how much I love Paula, as well. She is one of the hardest working, most enduring spirit I've had the pleasure to meet. Please give her my love. Love to you Monica, and all your brothers and sisters. XOXO - Posted by: Yolanna Yerex (family friend) on: Apr 29, 2018

He was the most handsome man I had ever seen. His smile, his laugh and that amazing moustache......I was instantly smitten by Boris. I hung on his every word and couldn't wait to spend time with him...whether at his very cool apartment or at his sister or mom's house. I had never met such a wonderful family as the Fedyshyns and missed them so much after Boris and I no longer dated. He was a beautiful man and when he called me Sentra my heart melted - young love right. I was 18 and he was 32.... and he was my world. Paula, I can still hear you saying Boris and having him make you laugh. Irene, Elizabeth and Pat - you were so wonderful to me and I am so thankful that Boris was a package deal! My thoughts, my heart and my prayers are with you now and always. Sandra - Posted by: Sandra (Friend) on: Apr 10, 2018

I only had the pleasure of meeting Boris in 2015 when I moved into the house beside his Sister and Mother. Boris immediately made me feel welcome to the neighborhood. I will never forget the day when he knocked on my door and handed me a bottle of wine to congratulate me on buying my home and welcoming to the neighborhood...it truly was touching how he took the time to be so thoughtful to someone who he barely knew. He was quite the handy man and a great help to his family. You will never be forgotten Boris...but sadly missed. - Posted by: Barb Rogers (Friend/Neighbor) on: Apr 08, 2018

The Fedyshyn and Malloy family's relationships go back a very long time and we continue those friendships to this day. We have both suffered tragedies but also joy in our families. You are not alone in your pain, our hearts are with you all today and know that others care. - Posted by: Elaine Stetina (Malloy) (Family friend) on: Apr 07, 2018
