OLIVE EILEEN HANDOGA (nee WELLS) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olive Eileen Handoga on March 29, 2018 in West St. Paul, Manitoba. Olive was predeceased by her beloved husband Marion "Zeke" Handoga. She will be fondly remembered by her son Bradford, granddaughters Leigh and Lauryn, sisters Darlene Fisette and Valerie Hill and their families. A special thank you to Betty Carson and Pat Ross for their devoted friendships. In addition, thank you to Jordan and Tanis for their kindness throughout the years. Olive was born in Winnipeg on July 13, 1939. She grew up in West Kildonan, attending Victory School and graduating from West Kildonan Collegiate. She had a long career as a dedicated employee of the Province of Manitoba. Olive was very involved with the Orange Lodge as well as assisting with the Junior Orange Band. She was an active member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church. Olive enjoyed her time working on the many projects at their cabin on Macara Lake as well as spending time with close friends. She loved crafting, especially sewing for her granddaughters, as well as cooking and baking. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Middlechurch Personal Care Home. A private service will be held at a later date.

  • My condolences, Brad, on the loss of your mother. The last time she and I spoke, was just after the death of your father. I wanted to reconnect with her, for old times sake, as well as mourn the death of Zeke with her. I spent many a time with Olive through our years together over at St. Barnabas, as well as with your father. However, it is Olive and I who ate up the telephone lines with our regular calls back and forth during those years! Your parents were part of my Team through the inaugural years of the FALL FUN FAIR, we created. As a testament to the success of that Team, of which your parents were a part, that FALL FUN FAIR continued, as long as St. Barnabas was an entity. And, Olive, Zeke and I were instrumental in creating the modern wall painting, in the lower hall. What a vibrant history we shared together! I still kept your Mother in my memories, although we drifted apart, so many years ago. Olive was a person I wanted to keep as a lifetime friend. Pity we weren't able to continue that friendship... farewell, Olive Hangoda. - Posted by: Linda Henderson (Friend) on: Apr 09, 2018
