ELFRIEDE HECK Elfriede passed away peacefully on April 5, 2018 at the age of 87 years. Elfriede was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 2014. She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Harry (Debbie), Daniel (Marla), and Richard (Barbara); six grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Elfriede was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada in the early 1950s. After initially settling in Toronto, she moved to Winnipeg when she met dad. Mom was always helpful and selflessly cared for those around her all her life. Her infectious smile touched everyone she met. Many thanks to the staff at Meadowood Manor for their excellent care of mom in her later years. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Mission Baptist Church, 771 Sargent Avenue with viewing prior to the service. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Elfriede's memory can be made to the Meadowood Manor Foundation or Back to the Bible.
