After a brief illness, Lillian passed away peacefully surrounded by many of her loved ones. Lillian leaves behind to cherish wonderful family memories, her children, Debbie (Lance), Gary (Marie-Anne), Valerie (Ralph), Gail (Jay); stepson Don and son-in-law Bob. She was grateful for the many grandchildren in her life, Terry (Tammy), Sarah (Christopher), Christine (Asad), Danny, Meghan (Sean), Adam (Maryline), Alex (Lisa), Melanie (Brandon), Wendy, Martina (Coben), Travis (Chelsey), Paige (Kevin), Darcy, Samantha (Abe), Melanie (George), Nicole (Scott), Christopher, Courtney (Joel), and Aaron. She leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her second husband (Les); and her brothers and sisters, (Leo, Ray, Charles, Yvonne, Diane, and Bert), stepdaughter (Heather) and daughter-in-law (Jamie). Born January 26, 1928, in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Lillian was the second youngest of seven children born to Henri and Fedora Lapierre. She spent her childhood in northern Ontario and then moved to Toronto in her young adult life where she met her first husband Walter Shewchuk, with whom they had four children, Debbie, Gary, Valerie and Gail. After the birth of their third child, they moved to Winnipeg where Gail was born. Lillian mainly stayed home with her children, yet held a variety of occupations in retail, catering, and office manager. Later in life Lillian met Les Williams and they were married on September 4, 1982, expanding our family members. She volunteered at the J. R. K. Millen Navy League with Les. They also spent many hours volunteering at the Red River Seniors group and Villa Beliveau where they lived for several years. They had a fulfilling life together with travelling and enjoying their large family. A celebration of Lillian's life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. A special thank you goes to the staff at the River East Personal Care Home for their wonderful care of our mother.
