ADELINA GARRECHT It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mom, oma, and great-grandmother Adelina Garrecht. Peacefully, with family by her side, she went home to her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on April 10, 2018 at the age of 85. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Philipp, her daughter Emma (Eugen) Kammerloch, daughter Irma (Alex) Loewen, and son Edward (Katarina) Garrecht, her 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Alice Ratschinski, brother-in-law Kurt Tscherch, and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends in Canada, Germany and Russia. Adelina was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Antonina Ratschinski, and five siblings. Adelina was born April 24, 1932 in Neumanowka, Ukraine. She married the love of her life, Philipp in 1954 and moved to Canada with her family in 1975. She worked at the Health Sciences Centre until retirement in 1987. She enjoyed living in the country where she had a big garden and farm animals to take care of, which provided great memories for the grandchildren. Adelina was a very hard-working lady who cared so much for her family. The family would like to thank the outstanding and caring staff at the Heritage Life Personal Care Home in Niverville, who cared for her in the last years of her life. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 13, at 1:30 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg with burial at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Parkinson Canada.
