BARRY WILLIAM BIGUS Barry William Bigus of Winnipeg, MB passed away peacefully, at Riverview Health Centre, on April 14, 2018 following a hard fought battle with cancer at the age of 73. Barry was born in Winnipeg on March 8, 1945. Barry grew up in Ottawa, ON where he met his first wife and returned to Manitoba to work for Sherrit Gordon Mines in Lynn Lake. Not long after, Barry moved to Winnipeg to work for Manitoba Hydro as a draftsman, working his way up into policy and rates by the time he retired. Barry was predeceased by his father William and mother Sophie. Left to mourn are his wife Cheryl; children, Jeffrey (Tammy), Treena (Ian) and Leonard (Amanda). Barry also leaves behind granddaughters, Markee (Jonathan) and Carson; and siblings Cheryl (Dana), Thomas and Darlene (Pip). Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg with Reverend Chuck Ross officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.

  • I am very sorry to learn of Barry's passing. Please accept my sincere condolences. I spent some time working with Barry while in Brandon, Selkirk and Winnipeg Regional Offices of Manitoba Hydro.   • Barry was always such a kind and sweet man to our family. I remember going to his house for Christmas when I was a small child. It's one of my favourite memories to this date.
