ANDY BLATZ November 16, 1942 - April 21, 2018 It is with joy and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Andy Blatz, aged 75 years, on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at home with his family at his side. Andy married Helen Schroeder on August 11, 1963 in Steinbach. They resided in Winnipeg where Andy owned and operated Can-Cell Industries Manitoba Ltd. Andy was a member of the Choritzer Mennonite Church in Winnipeg for 40 years, where he served as Sunday school teacher, treasurer and song leader for many years, and was in charge of building the Callsbeck Fellowship Chapel. Later he became a member of the Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church, which was closer to home, where he served as usher and greeter. He enjoyed golf, travel, visiting his family, neighbours and friends. He said, "He was going to a better place than you can imagine", before he died and will be greatly missed by: his loving wife of 54 years, Helen; son Brian (Myrna); daughters, Cheryl (Vern), Andrea (Jeff); grandchildren, Tracy (Collin and son Coen), Michael (Kayla), Eric (fiancee Danielle), Destinee (John); two brothers, Dan (Helen), Harry (Carol); sister Doreen (Elmer) and many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and the memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church, 500 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB.
