A great determinant in the quality of your life is who lives next door to you and we were indeed fortunate to live beside Jake (and Tina and the whole Nieuwenburg family). I had the pleasure of having many private conversations with Mr. Nieuwenburg over the years and while all were wonderful, none pleased us more than disagreeing over who had the better football team (Bombers vs. Riders). A truly eternal conversation! It was an honour to live beside Mr. NIeuwenburg. Safe travels, Jake, on the next leg of your journey - Posted by: Darrell Cole (Neighbour) on: May 01, 2018

Our thoughts are with the family of Jake. Jake and Tina were neighbours on Millfield Dr. for many, many years. Lots of fond memories and stories from that era... We will remember his sense of humour and cheerful outlook on life. - Posted by: David and Myrna Jubinville (Friend) on: Apr 30, 2018

Our family fondly remembers Jake and Christina as wonderful neighbours living 2 doors down from us for 30 plus years. Jake with his wooden shoes would walk over whenever Mom and I were working in my flower beds. Giving advise and with his wonderful sense of humour always asked who the little Chinese gardener was working along side me. It was my Mother in her straw hat. He gave us all a chuckle many a time. Our deepest condolences to the family . - Posted by: Inga Zahodnik (Friends/ Neighbours) on: Apr 30, 2018

My sincerest condolences to Jake's family, I had the privilege of knowing both Jake and Christina when they lived at The Terrace. I have such great memories of them both! You are in my thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Lisa Griffin (Lindenwood Terrace Recreation) on: Apr 27, 2018
