MARIA CABRAL Peacefully, surrounded by her family, Maria passed away on May 5, 2018 at the age of 80 years old. Maria is survived by her four children, Jose (Tereza), John (Maria), Maria and Mario; grandchildren, Nancy (Mike), Brian, Michael (Christy), Steven (Daniela), Brittany, Scott (Macey), Matthew, Amanda, Katelyn and Colin; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Garcia and William; brothers, Manuel (Rosa) and Jose (Deolinda); sisters-in-law, Lucia, Fernanda and Isabel; brother-in-law Manuel, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Agostinho, and parents, Maria Garcia and Manuel. Maria was born in the Arrifes, Sao Miguel and came to Canada in 1968. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved cooking for others. The family would like to thank Maples Home Care staff for their care and compassion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street N. with Rev. Fr. Andre Lico presiding. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue West. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
