Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySANDRA DOREEN KUSHNIR November 26, 1941 - May 10, 2018 It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Sandra Doreen Kushnir. Sandra will be lovingly remembered by her husband Don, of 57 years; daughters, Sherry (Gary) Durant and Darcy (Dave) Freudenberg; grandchildren, Meaghan (Brett), Kyla (Cats), Ashley (Steve), James and Jon; as well as great-grandchildren, Gus and Molly. She is also survived by her brother Roger (Carmen) Milbrandt, sister Leona (Denis) Beaulieu, sister-in-law Vera Dawydiuk, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Martha Milbrandt. Sandra grew up in Whitemouth, Manitoba on her parents' farm. After selling the farm she and her family moved into town, where they owned and operated Walt's Esso Service. Sandra loved attending weekend dances with her friends where she met her husband Don. After graduation she attended Teacher's College in Winnipeg. She married Don in 1960 and they settled in Winnipeg to work and raise their family. Sandra began her teaching career at Jameswood School and after obtaining her Bachelor of Education degree she continued teaching within the St. James School Division, finishing her career at Stevenson Brittania School. Once retired, Sandra and Don enjoyed travelling and spending time with family and friends at their cabin at Bird Lake. Sandra took great pleasure and pride in all of her grandchildren. She was an exceptional seamstress and loved to knit and read. One of her favourite pastimes was hitting the malls with one or both of her daughters. After struggling with a lengthy illness, and with her family by her side, Sandra passed away peacefully. We want to thank all of her family and friends for the overwhelming support that she received during this time. We will forever miss you. We all share in the sadness of her sudden passing and would like to invite all family and friends to a memorial service being held May 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193 www.korbanchapel.com
