Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • We are so sorry Bernie has passed but know he is now at peace. Our deepest sympathy to Dodie and to Bernie's family. We have so many memories of good times together, especially all the years we were neighbours across the back lane. - Posted by: George and Sandra McKerracher (Friends) on: May 25, 2018

  • Uncle Bern always brought a smile to my face as well as a few chuckles. As a child I fondly remember my visits to Beausejour and being part of the "Drysdale" family, which in that town seemed to bring special privileges. I especially remember driving the circuit thru the Whiteshell with Bern and my cousin Danny, in the old Shell fuel truck, listening to him pass the time of day (I think he had the quintessential Manitoba accent) with his customers with a few jokes thrown in. His kindness towards my mother, his older sister, will always be remembered, as will his appreciation of my father's humor. Thanks Uncle Bern you'll always be remembered. - Posted by: Harold Stanley (Nephew) on: May 24, 2018

  • Sorry to hear of Bernie's passing..I hadn't seen him in years but I remember what he told me in the early 70s when he worked with me in Warranty at Easterns..He said you will only have true friends about as much as fingers on one hand..Bernie was one friend I could call and talk to in time of need..Never talked in a while and last I heard he was on Jefferson Ave..You were a good man Bernie and won't be forgotten in my life, even though you were 18 yrs my senior..RIP Buddy.. - Posted by: wayne farmer (Co worker years ago..) on: May 23, 2018

  • I knew Bernie from Kildonan United Church and loved his hugs. He was always so cheerful and positive and we have missed having him at church for some time now. I am so very sorry for the loss for Doreen and his family, but know he's finally at peace and in no more pain. See you on the other side Bernie, God bless you! - Posted by: Joan Knowles (Friend) on: May 23, 2018
