MINNIE ELLA HALVERSON (née DEGRAAF) Minnie Ella Halverson, 89, of Winnipeg, MB, went to be with the Lord on June 5, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband Willard Halverson, and her parents, Henry and Dorothy deGraaf. She is survived by her five children, John Halverson (Erin), Henry Halverson (Wanda), Eunice Racicot (James), Gaius Halverson (Nancy) and Sharon Halverson; along with several grandchildren, sisters, brother, nieces and nephews. Minnie was a devout Christian that loved music and frequently reminisced about singing while she and her father played duets on the piano. She loved gardening and flowers and for many years her large vegetables fed her family. Before her marriage she saw much of Canada, including living in Vancouver for a time, she often spoke fondly of these years. As she grew older she gained an interest in puzzles and crocheting items of clothes for care packages being sent to African Nations. She is remembered for her independent spirit, her smile and her laughter. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 7, at 10:00 a.m. at Parkview Street Gospel Hall, 234 Parkview Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Interment service will be held on Friday, June 8, at 10:30 a.m. in Meridian Cemetery, in Glen Ewen, Saskatchewan.
