DOROTHY BOUTET (BOTHAM)
Date of Passing: Jun 11, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY BOUTET (nee BOTHAM) It is with sadness we announce that in the early hours of June 11, 2018, Dorothy passed away peacefully in her sleep, on the very street she was born on. Born in 1934, she lived her whole life in Weston and was very proud to have done so. She loved crossing paths with fellow "Westonites". Her father was "Bill the Barber", who had his shop on Logan Avenue and Quelch Street for many years, where Cantor's now stands. Dorothy worked in Eaton's Mail Order up until she married. After her children had grown, she began working in several bowling lanes throughout the city. Dorothy enjoyed five-pin bowling with the Forester's League for many years. After retiring, she enjoyed her dogs, birds, her garden and chatting with friends, neighbours and family. She will be missed by all. Dorothy is survived by her four children, Keith (Darlene), Susan (Howard), Karen (Paul), Trinity-Lynn (Ray); seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister Nora and her loving dog "Buddy". A Come and Go celebration of her life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 2, 1613 Logan Ave., on Sunday, June 24, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Donations can be gratefully made to an animal charity of choice. www.voyagefuneralhomes.com

Very sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing, my condolences to all of her family. I remember her fondly from Uptown Lanes, where I met Lynn, her daughter, so many years ago (1988, I believe). Again, my condolences to everyone and my best wishes to Susan and Lynn. - Posted by: David McKenzie (friend of Lynn and Susan) on: Aug 12, 2024

I haven't seen Dorothy for many years but remember her as being a beautiful woman that passed on her caring for animals to her children and myself. She was like an Aunt to me and I regret not making the time to see her more recently, while she was still with us. My heart goes out to her family and am sending lots of hugs from Victoria BC. I miss you all. I will send my donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society in her honour. - Posted by: Christine Bain (Koerner) (Family friend) on: Jun 21, 2018

My sincere condolences & regards to Dorothy's family...was my humble privilege to have not only worked with her (many stories...), but her company was a real pleasure at a number of Chinese New Year dinners hosted by the local branch of FLK Taoist Tai Chi Society in past years. Going for Timmy's, or samosas or a snack out was always a real pleasure--memories that will have to suffice of the great fellowship we enjoyed. Until we meet again, Godspeed, Dorothy - Posted by: Randy (friend/co-worker) on: Jun 17, 2018
