NELLIE (NELL) TAYLOR (nee DAVIDCHUK) On Friday, June 15, 2018, in the comfort of her home, Nell Taylor reunited with her husband and peacefully passed away following a courageous battle with cancer. Nell was born in the Lidstone District of Minitonas, Manitoba on December 1, 1939 and was raised on a farm in Swan River, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg in 1958 where she met her husband Robert (Bob), and they were married October 10, 1959 and began their life together. She loved to travel and together they would cross North America from one end to the other. Nell loved Jesus and her church family and taught Sunday School in the early years. She began working at Princess Auto in customer service in 1975 and retired in 2015. She received numerous awards and was held in high esteem across Canada for her kind nature and willingness to go above and beyond. She loved her Princess Auto family and was loved by many. Nell is survived by her loving sons, Randy (Lori) and Darrell; daughter Sherrie; sisters, Anne (Steve) Waschuk, Mary James, Lucille Clary and Ruth Davidchuk Vance along with sisters-in-law, Alice and Rita. She was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) Taylor; parents, Matthew and Antonia Davidchuk; brothers, Michael and Jack, and sisters, Sandra Dawson and Leah Preston. She will be fondly remembered. Thank you Bob and Cathy Tallman for treating her like family. A special thank you to the Palliative home care for helping us bring her home in her final months. Nell is now home with her Lord and Saviour and is rejoicing with her many family members. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 21 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. at Henderson Highway. Viewing to be held one hour prior to service. • Still can't believe you are gone. I know you are an Angel in Heaven. You are loved and missed by many. - Posted by: Angela (Princess Auto) on: Jun 23, 2018

  • Nell was a very special, loving, kind person. My first dealings with Nell began about 1999. We both worked for Princess Auto and at the time she was a team member with the 'Help Center'. Perfect job for her and in no time I realized that she would do anything to 'help' both the customers and her team across the country. I was a brand new employee and needed lots of help! Nell was always there for me. On my first visit to Princess Auto home office Nell searched me out and made me feel welcome and special. I was away from home for 3 weeks missing my husband and young son. Nell helped ease the home sickness. Over the years I have been to Winnipeg home office many times. Nell has always been someone that I looked forward to seeing. In my mind she was the epitome of a team player and a Royal Service provider. Nell will be missed. I'm positive there are many team members across the land that have had similar experiences as mine. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. - Posted by: Brenda Sutton (Co-worker from Barrie, Ontario) on: Jun 22, 2018

  • Nell was extra loved by the Barrie team. She would always chuckle when I talked to her and say, "Don't say anything but the Barrie Team is my favorite!" I'm sure she said that to all of us because we knew without her saying how much she loved us all like her family. My heart broke today when I read this, the world will be a little less bright without Nell here. Please know how much we really did love Nell and how very much she will be missed by all of us. I still have the lovely card and gift she sent my husband and I when we got married. She was so thoughtful. My sincerest condolences go out to her family and friends. She will always be with us, always. With love, hugs and prayers Bernadette LaVerdiere Princess Auto Barrie # 20 - Posted by: Bernadette LaVerdiere (Co-Worker) on: Jun 22, 2018

  • I worked with Nell for many years and her kind heart, friendly smile, and genuine passion for what she did is something I will not forget. She was an inspiration to us all at Princess Auto!
