EDWARD PARCEY January 6, 1935 - June 17, 2018 Peacefully at Concordia Hospital, Edward passed away. He will be remembered by his wife of 57 years, Doris (Ungurain); sisters, Elsie and Adeline; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Eddie was born to the late Peter and Anne Parcey and spent his entire youth in Pine River, MB. Eddie worked for Manitoba Hydro, retiring in 1994. Eddie loved to spend time outdoors and always looked forward to his time at his cabin in Pine River. Eddie was a founding member of St. George Orthodox Church and donated his time and energy whenever there was a need. He was a caring and devoted husband and loved his nieces and nephews dearly. His face would always light up whenever they were around and they will always remember his "kidding around" and great sense of humour and fun. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff at Misericordia Interim Care and River East Personal Care Home for all their support and care of Eddie during the final two years of his life. We would also like to thank all family members, friends and church family for their thoughts, prayers and visits. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 at St. George Orthodox Church, 121 Harvard Avenue East with Fr. Michael Ungrin officiating. Interment in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Rest in eternal peace, Eddie. We love you and will miss you.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • My two special memories of Uncle Eddie are when he took the time to help me when my brother Peter passed In Winnipeg. Whenever we drove through the area we would all visit Peter’s grave site. When my mother, his sister Theresa passed he drove all the way from Winnipeg to Timmins for the funeral. His kindness and his wonderfully joyous smile will always be remembered. Des and I will miss you Uncle Eddie. Rest In Peace. Love, Brina - Posted by: Sabrina Burke (Niece ) on: Jun 22, 2018

  • One of my fondest memories of Uncle Eddie was visiting the farm when my sister and I were very young. Uncle Eddie, at that time was not married. He would buy us a case of pop, our favourite flavours. In the guest house was a crank gramaphone. Uncle Eddie would sit and watch us while we cranked the record player, playing his music, dancing and giggling and having our pop! It was so much fun! We thought he was pretty special! Thank you for the memories Uncle Eddie! Your niece Doryne - Posted by: Doryne MacDonald (Niece...daughter of his sister Mary) on: Jun 21, 2018
