JOHN ARTHUR PETERS November 30, 1929 - June 17, 2018 With mixed emotions we announce the passing of John Arthur Peters. Dad was born into a loving Christian family on November 30, 1929 near Tofield, Alberta. In his teens the family moved to Matsqui, British Columbia. In 1958 he came to Mennonite Brethren Bible College in Winnipeg. He married Helena Hildebrand in August, 1961. Dad and Mom farmed at Ile des Chênes for 32 years, and then moved to Winnipeg. They enjoyed 25 years in their house and recently moved into an apartment at Donwood. John A. Peters leaves behind his wife Helena, three daughters and three sons: Barb and Larry Driedger, Neoma and Dave Goertzen, Lorne and Carol Peters, Vern and Lorie Peters, Delbert and Anita Peters, and Heather and Derek Peters, 24 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial service for John A. Peters will be held Thursday, June 21 at 1:00 p.m. at North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, 1315 Gateway Road, with burial prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at Cannon School District Cemetery west of Rosenort. Viewing at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg, Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
