Born: Apr 01, 1950
Date of Passing: Jun 17, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNANCY DARLEEN CLAEYS (nee UNWIN) April 1, 1950 - June 17, 2018 Nancy, beloved and cherished mom, wife, nana, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at home. She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 44 years, Bob, daughters, Michelle (Gary) and Shannon (Richard) and the light of her life, her grandson, Ian. She will also be missed by her brothers, Glen (Michelle) and Gordon (Helena). Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Josephine Unwin and her infant sister, Janis. Nancy was born April 1, 1950 and spent her life in Winnipeg working and raising her family. She first worked at Great-West Life, then later on for Hudson's Bay Company. She retired and her and Bob spent 11 joyful winters on the beach in sunny Florida, where she truly felt relaxed. Nancy's greatest joy was her family, and she could be found cooking, baking and caring for everyone else. She enjoyed her time in Meadowbrook at community gatherings, potlucks, bbqs and trivia nights. She loved cheering on the Winnipeg Jets and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and all of Ian's hockey and baseball games. Cremation and a private family service has taken place in keeping with Nancy's wishes. Special thanks to Dr. Choptiany and to Dr. C. Woelk and the staff at Boundary Trails Health Centre for their excellent care. Special thanks to the people in Meadowbrook and to her dearest friends for their kind thoughts, support and encouragement throughout this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. www.voyagefuneralhomes.com

Bobby, not enough time, but as was the plan, you retired early and got to spend all those years together, particularly the time spent in Florida. In the years ahead cherish that time you had together. Your friend -Bill Ratcliffe - Posted by: Bill Ratcliffe (Friend) on: Jun 26, 2018
