DONALD FRANK KEACHIE July 2, 1935 June 19, 2018 Don passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Joan (nee Black), son Daniel, daughter Ruth (Bill) and grandchildren Eric, Sean and Kate. He was predeceased by his parents, Augusta and Raymond, and by his brother David. Don lived his entire life in East Kildonan, raising his family two streets away from where he grew up. He worked for CN Rail as a Brakeman and Conductor for over 30 years. After retirement, he and Joan enjoyed travelling, especially to Hawaii. His greatest enjoyment however, was spending time at their cottage at Winnipeg Beach where he and Joan would socialize on the 5th Avenue pier and where he would walk the beaches for many hours searching for treasures. Don also had a keen interest in military history. The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff of N1 North at Concordia Hospital. We would especially like to thank Dr. Christine Duprat for all of her kindness and understanding throughout the years she cared for Don. Memorial service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at John Black United Church, 898 Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or to a charity of one's choice.
