SOPHIA BACHYNSKY After a brief illness, on Friday, July 13, 2018, we mourn the passing of our beloved mother and baba, Sophia Bachynsky. Sophia was born in Western Ukraine on July 13, 1924 and immigrated to Canada in 1947 where she resided in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband Senko, who passed away April 5, 1982. Sophia had a heart of gold and showed love and compassion for everyone she met. She was definitely a half glass full person who strived to see the best in people. She was content and happy in life and was grateful for the gifts God had given her. She loved working in her garden and would gladly share her garden produce with her neighbours and friends. She especially had a love of family and reminded those close to her the importance of family togetherness and goodwill. She will be deeply missed by her son Michael and his wife Irma, daughter Anne and her husband Brendan, and grandchildren, Jennifer, Vanessa, Ryan, Pat, Stephanie and numerous great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the staff at River Park Gardens for the excellent care they provided for our Mom in her final months. Funeral Divine Liturgy to be celebrated at Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, 965 Boyd Avenue on Tuesday, July 17 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Volodymyr Bashutskyy officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery.
