DMYTRO BOSAK It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Dmytro Bosak on July 19, 2018 at Health Science Centre after a very brief and courageous battle with cancer. Dmytro was born in Lvivska Oblast, Ukraine, selo Pereverediv on November 4, 1923. He left his homeland Ukraine in 1944, to serve his country during the Second World War. After the war, England became his new home for 11 years. During this time, he met and married his first wife Vera, and their first daughter, Oksana was born. In 1958, he and his family immigrated to Winnipeg, MB, Canada. A few years later, their second daughter Natalie, was born. Dmytro worked as a bartender at a number of hotels, retiring in 1991 from the Lincoln Motor Hotel after approximately 20 years. Dmytro was an extremely patriotic Ukrainian. He was very active and involved in the Ukrainian community while living in England, and then in Canada. He was a member of numerous Ukrainian organizations and raised his children instilling the same strong and valued Ukrainian beliefs, spirit and traditions that were so important to him. One of the things he loved most, and was best known for, was his love of the Ukrainian song and singing. In 1988, Dmytro's wife Vera passed away. In 2000, while a member of the Ukrainian choir "Dumka", he met and married his current wife, Vasylyna. Dmytro and Vasylyna spent his remaining years living happily together with much love, joy and laughter, shared together with their blended families. Dmytro is survived by his loving wife Vasylyna; his daughters and grandchildren, Oksana and Natalka (Kalyna and Nazar), stepchildren and step-grand and great- grandchildren, Mariya (Igor, Sergiy, Olga, Urii, Emma-Marie), Pavlo (Larysa, Artur, Oksana, Denis), numerous family in Ukraine and many friends here at home and around the world. He was predeceased by his parents, Vasyl and Ahafia; his brothers, Hryhoriy, Vasyl, Mykhailo; his sister Maria and his first wife, Vera. Honorary Pallbearers will be Vasyl Kucharski, Mykola Kashty, Andrij Wenger, Osyp Jaworskyj. Active Pallbearers will be Nazar Kunets, Igor Knyazyev, Pavlo Motruk, Sergiy Oliynyk, Denis Motruk, Urii Zhuk, Pavlo Postnow. Heartfelt thanks from our entire family to the amazing staff and caregivers at Health Sciences Centre who took such wonderful care of our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. This includes the Emergency Room staff, the 3rd Floor Unit D staff, the SICU doctors and staff, special thanks to nurse Sun for being so wonderful. An extremely heartfelt thank you to Dr. S. Logsetty and the Gold Team (surgical team). We are truly grateful and forever indebted to you for your outstanding and exceptional care and compassion. Prayer service will be led by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Michael Buyachok at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Sts. Volodymyr and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 115 McGregor Street. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by Msgr.
