WALTER HENZEL It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the passing of Walter Henzel, beloved husband, father and grandfather on July 25, 2018. Walter was predeceased by his wife Caroline; his parents, Nellie and Louis; his brother Eugene, sister Elaine, and brother-in-law Maurice. Left to cherish his memories are his children, Debbie (Roger), Kevin (Annette) and Richard (Traci); grandchildren, Kyle and Ryan, Keaton (Jilian) and Kolran (Jenny); brothers, Raymond (Dianna) and Donnie (Bonnie); sisters-in-law, Denise and Colleen; nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Walter was born on July 11, 1939 in Pansy, Manitoba. During his childhood he spent time on the farm until the family moved to Winnipeg. In 1960 he married the love of his life Caroline. Together they shared over 51 years. After a brief move to British Columbia to work in the pulp and paper industry, they relocated back to Winnipeg. It was here that he took employment in the trucking industry and eventually became a longterm employee with the City of Winnipeg Transit. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, discussing current events, watching the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and spending quality time with family and friends. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the St. Boniface Hospital staff especially the Vascular Surgery Team, Cardiac Sciences Team and Palliative Care Team for all their compassion, care and support. A special thank you to pallbearers, Keaton Henzel, Kolran Henzel, Kyle Henzel, Ryan Henzel, Bryan Henzel and Roger Gray. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1. Both services to be held at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Avenue. Interment to follow at Green Acres Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Sadly missed, but never forgotten. Vichnaya Pam'yat.
