WILLIAM DAVID CRUMB It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dave on July 25, 2018, following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer at age 71. Dave's greatest happiness was his family. He leaves to mourn his wife of 47 years Marnie; sons, Jeff (Dana Williams) and Jedd (Lisa Penner); sister Pam Gagnon (Maurice); along with grandchildren, Evan, Ella, Everett, Eden and Nathaniel. He is predeceased by his parents, D'Arcy Crumb and Audrey Reimer. Dave grew up in Crescentwood, living life to its fullest and making many lifelong friends along the way. Dave enjoyed watching the boys play hockey and was their biggest supporter. Dave often took the boys skiing, many times with a friend or nephew in tow. In recent years, Dave enjoyed travelling, building the cottage in summer and wintering in Desert Hot Springs with family and friends. Dave's five grandchildren were so precious to him and he saw them on a nearly daily basis, taking them to sports games and for bike rides. A celebration of his life will be held at Crescentwood Community Club, 1170 Corydon Avenue, on August 25 at 1:00 p.m. His family would like to thank all of the staff at the Victoria Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation or the Winnipeg Humane Society. www.voyagefuneralhomes.com

  • Dear Marnie: I really do know how difficult this must be for you and the boys. I recall the days that our families shared a good laugh and loved the easy rapport that you and Dave had with everyone. When things have settled you will look at your life and be forever grateful that you were able to share so many years with such a wonderful person. There will be lots of great stories to tell the grandkids! Take care and let me know if there is anything I can do to help! - Posted by: Leslie Later (Friend) on: Aug 09, 2018

  • You couldn't be a true business associate of Dave's without becoming a friend. He was just always so fair and forthright in all his dealings. I appreciated his insights and opinions in so many ways. And he was always thinking about the other guy. I called him in late May to reminisce about the pleasant day we had with Dave, Pam and Maurice after we visited him in Desert Hot Springs in January. During this call he told me about his diagnosis. Even then he shifted the conversation to want to know how Pat and I were doing. That was "pure" Dave. He was simply a great guy. And I will miss him. Both Pat and I would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to Marnie and the rest of the family. - Posted by: John Russell (Business associate and friend) on: Aug 05, 2018
