To Manuel, Matthew & Ana. I just found out today about Vasco's passing when I came by the shop to finish his sign. I still can't compose myself. I am so very sorry for the news and broken that I missed the funeral. I would wish you my condolences, but that could never be enough. My prayers go with you as well as my tears. I cannot comprehend the pain you feel as the pain I feel, which is only a shadow of yours, has broken my heart. My prayers go with you. May God comfort your hearts and grant you His peace. - Posted by: Walter Buchko (One of my best friends ) on: Aug 16, 2018

Vasco & I have been friends for over 30 years. He was more like the brother I never had. You couldn't help love the guy because of his heart of gold and generous spirit even to strangers. No matter his mood, he was a breath of fresh air to be around and always up for a laugh. People loved him because he had a gentle soul. With Vasco, you were always accepted. One's position, status, wealth and "importance" meant nothing to him. He only looked at the heart. Hanging around with him made a person, made me, feel like you were his best friend because he never ceased to make people, me, feel important: special. I, as many, will miss him deeply as though a part of us died. If friendship was wealth, he would be one of the richest people I have ever known. I have been privileged, no HONOURED, that God had given me such a wonderful friend. Vash! I cannot describe how deeply you will be missed. I don't think anyone who knew you as friend could. God keep you, my brother. - Posted by: Walter Buchko (He was one of my best friends. ) on: Aug 16, 2018

Dear Vasco, My family and I are very sad to hear that you have left our physical world and that you will no longer grace us with your enthusiasm for life and ever present smile. Your hard work and dedication to the needs of others before your own will not go unnoticed. God must have a very special place for people like you. Rest in peace my friend. It was a sincere pleasure to have known you. Americo, Lydia, Adam and Daniel - Posted by: Dr. Americo Fernandes (Friend) on: Aug 10, 2018

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Castro. He was called upon several times throughout the years to capture our family's memories through his photography.
