Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGARY NEIL SMEREK July 28, 1948 August 1, 2018 It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Gary, on August 1, 2018, at Concordia Hospital. He will be sadly missed by his wife Betty; mother Olga; sisters-in-law, Jean (Stan), Sheila; brother-in-law Ken, many cousins and numerous friends. Gary was employed with Maple Leaf Construction. He loved fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. He especially loved his little red Corvette. Thanks to all the paramedics, doctors and staff at the Concordia Hospital for all their care and compassion. There will be a small service on Thursday, August 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Family Cemetery, 4355 Main Street.

Gary and I met in grade 7 at John Henderson Jr. High, hung around together in our teens, worked together at many diff. jobs. Had a great time driving around in his 1957 Ford convertible, hanging around the "pepsi". As time went on we drifted apart but called each other just to chat, or my yearly pilgrimage to the Curtis just for Christmas to have drink and catch up on our lives. Going to miss you Gary.
