Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVALERIE HILL July 22, 1947 - August 1, 2018 It is with profound sadness, sorrow and loss that we announce the transition of Valerie Hill (nee Vally Wells). She had heart surgery at the Asper Centre, and most recently spent much time under care at Victoria General Hospital. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and will be extremely missed by her daughter Tara (Terry Haluik); and her two precious granddaughters, Hannah and Ariana, with whom she resided; her son Cory (Cheryl); grandson Jordan (Lara); great-grandchildren, Dominic, Xavier and Madeline; son Steven (Hali) and their children. She will also, be terribly missed by her best friend Lynne MacDonald, of Edmonton and our dear Monica (Olga) Harder. Her passing will also be naturally missed by her sister Darlene (Louis Fisette), as well as numerous nephews and their wives and her many cousins from both sides of her family, and uncle from her mother's side and two aunts from her stepfather's side. She was predeceased by her loving mother Irene Toole and stepfather Bernard Toole, and sister Olive Handoga, and brother-in-law Marion Handoga. Valerie had a distinguished career of over 40 years as a nurse and was active in the nursing community, she was also active in the Scandinavian Centre being a very proud Norwegian and was a district commissioner in Girl Guides of Canada. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Deborah Hinds, Christine Koves and Lynne MacDonald for their support and love during this very difficult time. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 130 Nassau Street N. on Tuesday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory will be appreciated to Balmoral Hall School or St. Mary's Academy.

Sorry for your loss Tara, Hannah and Ariana. Back when I first met Tara and Val through a friend who lived with them, we all had some fond memories. Such as Val's cat "Sandy" and a certain laundry basket. There has been so many things to mention that were so easy back then. Even though you are having a lot of different emotions right now it will hurt a little less every year. Keep all the memories you have had together close to your hearts. - Posted by: Katherine Morton (Friend) on: Aug 22, 2018

I was saddened to hear of Val's passing. She was in one way another part of my life since 1981, although I hadn't had contact for more than a few years. Tara I am so sorry for your loss. I pray you will find peace and comfort during this most difficult time. Love to you always. RIP dear Val 😢 - Posted by: Cheryl Burnett (Daughter in law (former) ) on: Aug 18, 2018
