WALTER ZUEFF It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Walter Zueff, suddenly on August 22, 2018. Walter was a beloved husband, father and brother to those left behind to keep his memory. Those include his wife Luba, his children, Michael (Tannis) and Lisa Cummings (Sean), and his grandchildren, Riley, Kieran, Kiersten and Kaity. He will also be missed by his brother and sister-in-law Don and Sigrid, and their children, Stefan, Eric and Heather. He is predeceased by his father and mother William and Lena Zueff, brother in infancy, Michael, and in-laws, Peter and Katherine Chomyn. He was born in Winnipeg on August 19, 1937. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Fraserwood, MB to start farming, where he worked hard with his mother while his father was away working in the bush. Walter went to school in Teulon, and then moved back to Winnipeg in his early 20s. He worked as an accountant for several local businesses, including International Lab, Silpit Industries and Pritchard Engineering. During that time he received his CMA degree and in 1988 he started his own accounting practice, EXCEL Management, which he ran successfully with his wife for 27 years. Walter will always be remembered for his warm, gregarious personality, his devotion to his wife and children, and the enormous pride he had for his grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 27, at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.

  • So sorry for your loss. You all are in my thoughts & prayers at this time. I worked with Walter at Canadian Sportswear as a data entry clerk for a couple of years & I really enjoyed working with him as he was very patient & understanding. He also was a great help to me when I was the secretary-treasurer of Church of the Open Door & he would review my books at the end of the year. I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the service as I won't be home from Ont. until Tues. May the Lord bless you all & may Walter rest in peace. - Posted by: Margaret Martin (Former co-worker at Canadian Sportswear) on: Aug 25, 2018
