She is lovingly remembered by her cherished daughter Emily, brothers, Roy (Monica) and Dan (Laurel); nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins, friends and neighbours. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Roy and Stella. Cathy was born in Winnipeg on July 16, 1955 and grew up in Transcona. Cathy enjoyed school and excelled academically, obtaining her Master's Degree in Science. She was so proud of Emily's many achievements. Cathy's faith was also very important to her and she was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Parish. Thank you to the staff at St. Boniface and Concordia Hospitals for their compassion and kindness during Cathy's final weeks. Cathy, we will hold you forever in our hearts and will miss you dearly. Cremation has taken place. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, 505 Brewster Street in Transcona at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018. Emily, I am so sorry to learn of your mom's passing. I pray that the many cherished memories you hold so dear will ease your sorrow and get you through this difficult time. Your mother was an amazing lady. Your birth will always stand out to me because of the pure joy your mother felt when you arrived and what a gift you were to her. She told me her goal was to be a great mother.. I think she exceeded her goal. Many times I would see your mom and learn of your adventures. She was so proud of you dear! You were her world. The world will now be an emptier place without her. May she rest now!! God Bless and take care - Posted by: Donna (Friend/public health nurse) on: Sep 22, 2018

I often thought about Cathy as we are updating some of our guidance documents and some that she worked on. She was excellent to write these guidance and missed. We had yearly meetings with the Dairy program team where I used to meet Cathy, she was such a nice person. As other parents did, she was sharing some stories of her dear daughter Emily about the activities she/they were doing and trips they were sharing. We could feel how proud of her daughter she was and her happiness too. I hope she lived happy retirement years before she became sick. My condoleance to Emily, family and friends. - Posted by: Normand Giguère (Work Colleague in Montreal) on: Sep 21, 2018
