PETER KUBAS It is with deep sorrow and sadness that the family of Peter Kubas, aged 82, announce his sudden passing on September 22, 2018. Peter is survived by his children, Sheila, Donna (Richard), and grandchild Brooke. He will also be greatly missed by his siblings, Ann Chrusch and Jean Wilkinson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Peter was predeceased by his wife Betty, in 1978, his brother Michael, in 1981, his parents, Helen, in 1994 and Ludwig, in 1972. Peter was born on April 7, 1936 in Poplarfield, Manitoba, to Helen and Ludwig Kubas. He grew up with his three siblings on the farm in Broad Valley. Peter married his wife Betty Rudnicki in 1965. He retired from teaching in 1989, but kept himself busy and was always on the go. Peter enjoyed spending time at the farm, gardening, golfing, bowling, and most of all being with his granddaughter Brooke. He was an active member of St. Nicholas Church and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. Family mattered most to Peter. He dedicated himself to taking care of all of us, but had a special place in his heart for Brooke. Our lives have been truly blessed by his ever-loving nature, giving heart, and love for life. Peter had a great sense of humour and could always be seen with a smile on his face. He was an outstanding father that has left us all too soon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, in Peter's name. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, September 29 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Avenue. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.

Please accept our condolences for the passing of Peter. We were fellow golfers at Lorette Golf Club for several years. Peter was , as was mentioned, such a happy man and always seen with a smile on his face. He loved to be golfing. He was a pleasure to be around and we both looked forward to being able to golf with him. - Posted by: Garry/Carol Luckwell (fellow golfers at Lorette Golf Club) on: Sep 28, 2018
