Born: Apr 02, 1964
Date of Passing: Oct 07, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRADLEY MILTON STANFORD ALLISON April 2, 1964 - October 7, 2018 After a two year battle with lung/bone cancer, Brad passed away peacefully at Jocelyn House Hospice, on October 7, 2018. A funny, gregarious, intelligent spirit, he was a much respected leader in the Winnipeg music community. Brad was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. He was predeceased by his father, Milton Allison. He is survived by his loving mother, Mary Allison (neé Engbrecht), of Winnipeg and his brother Thom Allison and Micah Barnes, of Toronto, ON. The family wishes to acknowledge two angels on earth, Brad's dear friends, Ann Green and Michelle Chouinard, who took care of Brad in his last eight months, better than if they had been born family. We love you and can never thank you enough. As per Brad's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. In his memory, and if you are so inclined, we ask that you make a donation to Jocelyn House, where Brad received such beautiful, loving care in the last months of his life. We should all be so generously held in our final days. Donations can be made at the Jocelyn House Hospice website: www.jocelynhouse.ca. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193 www.korbanchapel.com

Hi All Brad came to our house EVERY Christmas Eve for almost 30 years! The earlier years, when mom, Irma, and mom-law, Grace, alive---he walked in door and they gave him taste tests of everything. He had them hooked! They loved him to pieces. Hugs and kisses to go around. Brad's later xmas eves were shorter as he was taking care of parents. Of course, he took very good care of dad. His love for Mom and Dad is well Known. We are same age so often were going thru same parent issues...however...we could also argue like wouldn't believe...Brad was an amazing arguer!!...scared the crap outa me!!!...made me better person in the end-if I can argue with Brad, I can argue with anyone - Posted by: Colleen Grywinski (Friend) on: Oct 14, 2018

I met Brad in the late 80s. My friends and I would go and see him play at many clubs in Winnipeg. Electric orange was one of the best bands in town. Very talented musicians. Brad and i shared much laughter over the years. He cared deeply and passionately about his music and never stopped. He cared deeply about his parents and always took care of them. He had a couple of cats over the years that were very dear to him. His smile and twinkling eyes will always stay in my memory. He was the sweetest, kindest friend. Love you lots Brad. - Posted by: Janice Tayler (Friend) on: Oct 14, 2018

We want to express our condolences to Aunt Mary and Thom. This is so hard for us being so far away but this last year has brought us closer. Brad was an amazing young man he cared for his dad and mom with love and respect. He was so worried about his mom and who would look after her when he was gone right to his last day. He loved his music and his friends were family to him . He will be sorely missed love you bud❤️ - Posted by: Dennis and Mavis Penner (Cousins) on: Oct 12, 2018

My deepest condolences to the Allison family. I keep remembering all the the times Brad played at the Canadiana and what an awesome and crazy guy he was to work with. Always so happy and confident. He loved to play the bass guitar and sing the song "Someone Like You" which I never did that but he just kept singing it lol eventually I liked it hearing it so many times. The last time I talked to him 2 months ago he was still excited about getting back to the hotel and singing. I said well you better get out of there first. I can't believe this and really miss him even though he drove me crazy sometimes. We even had a band started for awhile. I can just picture him singing now in a better place. Heaven will never be the same only better. RIP Brad your coolness and friendship will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Tami Luschinski (Friend) on: Oct 12, 2018

Brad always 'kept it real'. No b. s. - ever. And for that I already miss him lots. He was also an extremely talented musician who promoted other musicians, not just himself. He was smarter than the average person, and understood how important it is for all humans to treat each other with respect. He had a fantastic smile - that could light up a room. And he truly cared about the well-being of all the members of 'his tribe' . He will be missed by many, many people whom he had a positive impact on. - Posted by: Deborah Spear (Friend) on: Oct 10, 2018
