Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHYLLIS JEAN PETRICK (nee KACHUR) August 12, 1944 - October 8, 2018 It is with broken hearts the family of Phyllis Jean Petrick (nee Kachur) announce her passing in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving Monday, October 8, 2018. She is survived by her husband Paul of 56 years and their four children, Angela (Fab) Lisi, Ken (Peggy), Brad (Estelle) and Greg, along with her six grandchildren, Hilary, Emily, Celeste, Brett, Jaycie and Karlee. She is also survived by two sisters, Olga (Bill) Bezditny and RoseAnn (Bill) Gylywaychuk and three brothers, Melvin (Helen), Paul (Bev) and Lenny (Martha) along with all of their families. Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Stella Kachur and one sister Leona Gregoraschuk. Mom was born August 12, 1944 and grew up in Trentham, MB. At the age of 17 she married the love of her life, Paul on August 11, 1962. Shortly after their marriage they established their family farm building a successful dairy operation for many years. Then in 1986 she followed her passion and Phyllis' Catering began. This adventure took her to all corners of the province making countless new friends along the way. The highlight of her career was catering the Ukrainian-Kiev Folklarama Pavilion for seven years. Baba will always be in our hearts, never forgotten and forever missed. The viewing will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 Hwy. 52 W., Steinbach, MB from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. followed by a service at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB at 10:00 a.m. with the interment to follow at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Sarto, MB. We the family would like to thank South East EMS and the doctors and staff at HSC for their efforts and support along with the countless family and friends support during this difficult time. Phyllis and I were school friends. then she was my bridesmaid.. but our paths crossed.. I moved away.. keep in touch.. Rest in peace my friend... to Paul and family.We are thinking of you during these difficult times. May my condolences bring you comfort and may my prayers ease the pain of this loss. To the entire Petrick family from the Keeley family; please accept our most sincere condolences. Thank you for all the years you had Leonard with you. I remember how happy (and busy) Phyllis was when she started her catering business and how word spread like wild fire because her food was so good. . Meals in heaven are about to change because they now have one heck of an awesome cook. Rest In Peace Phyllis.
