Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH ALBERT MACDONALD It is with extreme sorrow, on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Riverview Palliative Care, Ken, aged 62, with his loving and devoted wife of 12 years, Lori, at his bedside, passed away. Ken leaves to mourn his cherished wife Lori; sister-in-law Lynnell Powell, husband Dwight, nephew Nolan and niece Rayna. Brother-in-law Les Lazaruk and wife Verna of Saskatoon; brother Glen and sister-in-law Nancy of Hillsboro, Texas, nephew Nathan and wife Megan of Seattle, Wa., niece Brittany and husband Todd Vogt of Tampa, Fl.; plus numerous cousins and friends. Ken was predeceased by his father Clarence and mother Anna. Ken was born April 25, 1956 in Winnipeg, but grew up in Grosse Isle and graduated high school in nearby Warren, MB. Following his schooling, Ken worked at Safeway, but his love for cooking took him towards Culinary Arts at Red River Community College. Even though he didn't pursue a culinary career, family and friends were often treated to a spectacular gourmet style meal prepared by Ken. That talent was evident throughout his adult years! As life tends to do, Ken's career path took another twist and one that became a passion and award-winning one. Ken became involved in the gardening and landscaping industry in 1989 as a part-time employee at Penndale Nursery. From that job came a love of horticulture that led to taking numerous courses through the University of Guelph, including Landscape Design. In 2003, Ken's love of landscaping led to the creation of "Gardens by Ken". In time, the company name became "Prairie Sky Landscaping". A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Riverwood Church Community, The Warehouse, 270 Gordon Ave., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ken's memory to Siloam Mission. "My wonderful husband if I had my life to live over again, I would find you sooner so that I could love you longer! There are no good-byes for us, wherever you are, you will always be in my heart!"

I have known Ken all of my life. We went to high school together played hockey in Grosse Isle and numerous other sports over the years. He was one of the most creative persons I have ever known. Ken and I had many fun road trips throughout the USA and Canada they are some of my fondest memories in my life. He was my closest friend for many years and I will miss his laughter and friendship. I could write about Ken for hours telling you all of the things we did together over the years he was unique and he will be missed by everyone who ever met and got to know him. Lori, I loved him like a brother and he will be in my thoughts for the rest of my life. Goodbye, my brother until we meet again. Doug and Lori - Posted by: Doug McNabb (close friend) on: Oct 16, 2018

My first time meeting Ken I was met with a big beautiful smile following by a hug. His friendly gentle manner was a great first impression as he was tall in stature. He cooked a beautiful meal the likes of which I wouldn't be able to replicate. He even made a special no cheese dish! Ken's whit and his sense of humor was boundless. His breathtaking work in the yard and the inside of the home was beautiful. I new when I saw them together Lori was the love of his life and he was the love of hers. Now for eternity he will be with her in spirit at her side waiting for her to join him in our heavenly realm. We will see you again my dear brother in Christ in the presence of our heavenly father. Amen. - Posted by: Verna Lazaruk (Sister in law ) on: Oct 13, 2018
