EVELYN (MA) DUCHARME It is with profound sadness that the family of Evelyn Ducharme announces her passing on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at the age of 94. Evelyn will be deeply missed by her partner and best friend, Len Erstelle. Left to mourn are her children, Ron (Kathy), Diane (Joe), Carol, Lloyd (Michelle), Ed, Rocky, Rory (Sandra), Roland (Veronica), also her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph LaRiviere, Rose LaRiviere; brother Fred LaPlante; and sisters, Steena Vernon, Lorraine Dandurand. She is survived by her sister-in-law Rita LaPlante. She always loved having family and friends around her kitchen table playing music or playing poker, laughing, enjoying each other's company. Not many left her kitchen without a shot of whiskey. Her mind was quicker than a New York City lawyer and with a quick wit. She had a deep love for the underdog. She also welcomed many into her home but never shy to share her feelings and let you know if you stepped out of line. She never took a back seat to anyone. She also had a deep love for animals, dogs, cats and chickens, even a city goose. All of the family thanks Jasmine Ducharme and Delaney Ducharme for going the extra mile in her care. She took care of the weak and humbled the strong. Family thanks the staff of Fred Douglas Lodge, especially the Willow unit for the kind and compassionate care. Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Have a toast to her life and "Remember the good times".

I remember them both coming to our house on Portland Ave. I thought Evelyn was a very beautiful woman and she was always smiling when I saw her. I have vague memory of Dianne and Rocky and Ronny.
