Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNA BORCHARDT Peacefully on October 14, 2018 Erna passed away at the Lac Du Bonnet Personal Care Home. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 67 years, Gert. Her daughters Edie and Sigrid (Rick), grandchildren, Chris (Tracy), Kim (Karl), Angie (Mason); great-grandchildren, Jackson, Hayden, Emily, Lauren, and Adrianna. Erna was born on March 6, 1929 in Karlshofen, Germany. On May 8, 1948 she met the love of her life Gert. On January 5, 1951 they married. They immigrated to Canada with their two children in 1956. Erna and Gert loved to spend time in Pointe Du Bois. After retirement they built their home there. They spent a lot of time in the outdoors fishing, blueberry picking, snowmobiling and skiing. She was a great cook and baker. She always had a fresh tin of cookies for the kids. We will all miss her black forest torte. Erna loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will miss her beautiful blue eyes and the smile she always had for everyone. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Lac Du Bonnet Personal Care home for their excellent care. A private service will be held at Friends Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the Lac Du Bonnet Personal Care Home or a charity of one's choice.

Gert, I was truly saddened to hear of your wife's passing. Although I may not have met her I see clearly in the write up that she was a very loved spouse, mother, grandmother and friend.
