KATHERINE (BOYCZUK) WOOD February 23, 1921 - November 5, 2018 Katherine (Kay) passed peacefully into the hands of God with many beautiful souls waiting there to welcome her. She was predeceased by her husband McGregor, son Glenn and great-grand-daughter Jenna. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Lana Swan and grand-daughters, Donna (Hugh) Cameron and Leanne (Rick) Hoegler, daughter-in-law Ruth Wood (Glenn Moore) and granddaughters, Tracy (Trevor) Aldridge, Kelli (Leigh) Sauer and Taryn Cossar, and great-grandchildren, Matthew and Mitchell Cameron, Evan Hoegler, Kathryn and Mackenzie Aldridge, Lilli Sauer, and Georgia and Jamie Cossar. Her first cousin Jeanette Coutu and her daughters, Cheryl (Doug) Healey and Janice (Mick) Delisle. As well as all her cherished friends that meant so much to her. Katherine was born, an only child, in Winnipeg, MB. She lost her mother at the age of 12. Her father (Joseph) remarried Antoinette and she became a cherished mother to her. Kay learned to take care of her self at a young age. She became a strong and independent woman. She quickly found the love of sewing, went to school to learn the art, how to make patterns and was employed throughout her life in the industry. Sewing was never a job to her, she loved everything about it. The Bay was her favourite, as she worked on bridal gowns and loved seeing the happy brides. She married McGregor (Mac) on October 31, 1939. While Mac was away at war, Glenn was born on May 24, 1940 and then Lana on January 1, 1942. They made many memories travelling to warm destinations with friends. She was always keen to learn anything she could about the world. In the later years she would ask for our itineraries wherever we were travelling. Then she would follow along, on her computer, as if she was on the journey with us. Then we would talk all about it once we returned. She was never afraid of the challenges of the technological world. She was a part of many family celebrations through FaceTime, Facebook and emails. Gardening was another love of hers. It was passed down to her by her father who won many awards for his horticultural talents. She passed that love onto her children and then to their children. She spent many hours caring and tending to her plants, garden and fruit trees. The basement was filled with grow lights so she could start the seeds or slip her geraniums to start her pots early. She always loved to know what we were growing in our gardens and how everything turned out at harvest time. By far her greatest love was for her family. She was so very very proud of each of them and their accomplishments. She would say "How did I get so lucky to have such beautiful, smart and talented granddaughters and great-grandchildren?" She burst with pride and celebrated each and every milestone. We always looked forward to phone calls because she so enthusiastically wanted to know every bit of what was going on in our lives. She appreciated any time we could share with her and was quick to say so. She will be lovingly remembered and remain forever in our hearts. We love you!
