ANNIE WAWRYKOW Peacefully, Annie passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Maples Personal Care home. Survived by her son Neil and his wife Joan; and several nieces and nephews. Annie was predeceased by her husband John (2002); father Peter (1928); mother Kateryna (1976); stepfather Stephen(1966); sisters, Mary (Nick) and Nettie (Basil); brothers-in-law, Maxime (Katherine), Michael (Francis), Joseph (Anne) and Daniel (Mary); sisters-in-law, Anne (Louis) and Catherine (Roy); and niece Maxine. Annie was born on February 1,1924. After completing her education Annie then worked in her parent's corner grocery store on Mountain and Arlington. Annie and John were married in 1955 and she concentrated on being a homemaker after the birth of her son. Annie was a loving wife and mother. Mom never retired from taking care of her family; as family was the center of her life. She really missed everyone when she became the last surviving member of her generation. Mom spent her last years in Maples Personal Care Home and we thank their dedicated employees for their care including Fatima who helped Mom with her hair. We thank everyone who visited, and sent cards, pictures and well wishes to Mom while she was in the Maples Personal Care Home. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Avenue with Rev. Volodmyr Bashutskyy officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.

I will always remember Mrs Wawrykow as sweet and kind. Always willing to do something for someone else. I'll remember her clipping coupons, and calling her sisters with the best deals she found at Co-Op. I remember endless Cucumber sandwiches and chicken noodle soup, Old Dutch Potato Chips. Tenting in the backyard, grilling burgers on the hibachi, playing pool and ping pong in the rec room. Shooting things up with bb's in the garage, Playing hockey in the driveway, Fishing trips to Tuelon, that bridge somewhere near Selkirk, and Lake Winnipeg, with tons of snacks packed for us by Mr's Wawrykow. Neil and I each had 2 homes growing up. 2 Moms keeping us in line. Watching out for us. I feel Blessed to have had you in my life. Your son is my brother in every way except by blood. You and Mr. Wawrykow were always there for us. Always good to me. The world will be a lesser place without you in it, but in Heaven.. Man!, Are things going to get done. God Bless Until we meet again. - Posted by: Dino and Suzie (best friend) on: Dec 12, 2018

My family and I send you our condolences, Neil. Your mother's passing is not only a loss for you and those who knew her but it also signifies to me the passing of the "old guard", the last of my aunts and uncles to pass away. I am currently in California and will not be attending the Divine Liturgy or internment but will be thinking of you and your mother this Friday. Sending you lots of love and best wishes in your time of sorrow, Laara. - Posted by: Laara K. Maxwell (Cousin to Neil Wawrykow. Our fathers were brothers. My father was Joseph. ) on: Dec 12, 2018
