She is survived by her four children: Irene (Tim), John (Sandi), Pete (Mary Anne) and Arlene (John); her 13 grandchildren: Rebekah, Andrew (Laura) and David (Krista); Tamika, Jared (Tonya) and Kiera (Nick); Jonathan, Josiah (Dianne), Jeremiah (Camille) and Joshua (Bekah); Hannah (Chad), Josh (Janique) and Sam; her six and a half great-grandchildren: Raiden, Jacob, Ryder, Alfred, Adeline, Silas and young Unruh in the making. She is also survived by one sister, Jessie Peters. She was predeceased by her husband: Herman Enns; parents: Johann Gerhard Peters and Margaretha (Warkentin); and two sisters: Margaret Franz Hildebrand and Sara Peters. Mary was born in Glenlea, Manitoba on December 22, 1928, and was baptized in the Elim Mennonite Church in Grunthal, Manitoba at the age of 18. Mary loved school and graduated from MCI in Gretna, Manitoba in 1947 and after receiving her teaching certificate from Provincial Normal School in Winnipeg, she taught in a one-room school near Grunthal for several years. In 1953, she married Herman Enns and they settled on the farm where Herman grew up near St. Elizabeth. Here they struggled with poor crops, floods, snow storms and all the other trials and tribulations that farmers deal with which led to them moving to Carlowrie in 1966 where they continued to farm. Herman passed away in 2010, and in 2014, Mary went back to the Carlowrie farm where her daughter Arlene lived and was happy to be back "home". She enjoyed four more good years there puttering around the yard. She enjoyed relatively good physical health until this past year and on September 12, 2018, she moved to the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris. Here she enjoyed the company of fellow residents and staff. Above all, she loved her family and all her friends who supported her in her final days. Many thanks to Dr. Loewen, the wonderful staff, nurses, health care aides and others at Red River Valley Lodge who took excellent care of her over the three months that she was a resident there. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Arnaud Mennonite Church, Arnaud, Manitoba. Interment will follow the service at the Lichtenau Cemetery, St. Elizabeth, Manitoba. Arrangements by: BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030
