MARIANA ROSA BORGES After a courageous battle with cancer Mariana Borges passed away on December 27, 2018, at the age of 66, with her family by her side. Mariana is survived by her children, Carla and David; grandchildren, Dante and Leahandrea; siblings, Ursulina (Adriano), Ana (Jose), Helena (Manuel) of Azores, Alvaro (Teresa) and Rui (Dolores), sisters-in-law, Solidade (Fernando) and Altina, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mariana was predeceased by her husband Joao, her parents, Jose and Isaura Sousa, and her brother Jose Sousa. Prayers will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Parish, 181 Austin Street N. Entombment to follow at the Assumption Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. Mariana's pallbearers will be her beloved son, grandson and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff from Palliative Care and the doctors and nurses at the Health Sciences Centre for their support, care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Mariana's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
