Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • What an absolute shock to hear of Greg’s passing. Known Greg personally since the 90’s and him working at Edison Shell before that. So sorry for the loss of one of the finest people I’ve ever known. Was so nice of him and Rose to visit us in Kelowna and spend time together after we moved in 2010. ...you lived your life to the fullest my friend. - Posted by: David Boyko (Friend) on: Sep 09, 2020

  • It is with great sadness to hear of Greg's passing. Was a high school friend of his (West Kildonan Colligate) and kept in touch. Working together in the same profession we had many good times solving the impossible. Greg was one of the brightest individuals I ever met. Memories I will never forget, just like the filmed "Bottle Cap" dump surprise. :) What a guy. Miss you - Posted by: Barrett Fillbert (Friend) on: Feb 08, 2019

  • My heart goes out to Greg's family. He has always been such a great character. My deepest condolences. Still think of everyone with the fondest of memories. May he rest in peace. Hugs to all that are hurting at this very sad time. - Posted by: Sandra Young (Friend) on: Jan 08, 2019

  • My condolences to Rose and the family. I remember when Marty would stop by our house just to say hi. Robyn would love it when Marty would come by and shoot the shit about mechanical stuff and they would look at Rob’s fire truck and try and get it going. Whenever Rob had a mechanical question he’d always say to me “I got to call Marty.” - Posted by: Bonnie (Friend ) on: Jan 07, 2019

  • Greg was a part of my life since the day I was born 35 years ago. There was never a moment in that long history that Greg did not show me and my family the greatest love, I have so many memories of hanging out in his room or on the back off one of his bikes. Boxing Day was always amazing and Greg’s one of a kind personality made it all the more special. I was absolutely heart broken to hear that I had lost the greatest uncle in the world. I will miss Greg more than can be written or spoken. I will honour his memory by ensuring my daughter learns of her great uncles life and how special he was to me. I will miss you tremendously uncle Greg . - Posted by: Kyle Reynolds (Nephew ) on: Jan 07, 2019

  • Ken and I are so sorry for your loss. Greg will be missed by all who knew him for sure. Although we had been in and out of each other's lives as friends since I was 13, I never forgot him and stayed in touch via facebook. His ethics, integrity, and heart were what I saw as Greg's character. There wasn't anyone else like him. We are sure that he is with Jesus up in Heaven, and riding even more than he did here on earth. - Posted by: Cyndi Slapinski nee:Croll (Friend) on: Jan 06, 2019

  • Greg's sudden passing has been devastating to his family and friends. We saw him and Rose at the Fort Garry Christmas Dinner and he was happy and looked healthy. He sent us a couple of pictures from it that day. He couldn't make it to his family's Boxing Day gathering because he was experiencing chest pains. Marty liked to go fast and did so with many different types of vehicles (cars, dragster, speed boat, street bikes, dirt bikes, snowmobiles). He instilled the love of dirt bikes into his daughters who he loved very much. He loved and was very good to his daughters and young grandchildren. He had many friends and made an effort to keep in touch with them by visiting them. He was also very kind and helpful to his friends. When I was in the area with my dog Xi-Xi, we would visit him. He would come out to play with Xi-Xi and give him soccer balls and biscuits. Xi-Xi loved to swim in his ponds and run around in the open area. Xi-Xi would whine near his door if he didn't come out to see him. The two of us will miss him very much. Greg's yard was also very interesting as he set it up with special lighting, meat for birds, some of his collectibles and tombstones. Condolences to his mom, siblings, daughters, grandsons, relatives and numerous friends. - Posted by: Jim "Fritz" Fryza (long time friend ) on: Jan 05, 2019
