Date of Passing: Jan 01, 2019
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER (WLADYSLAW) PIECZKO Walter (Wladyslaw) Pieczko passed away peacefully on January 1, 2019, at Concordia Hospital, at the age of 88. He was predeceased by his father Jozef Pieczko and his mother Katarzyna Pieczko. Walter is survived by his ex-wife and good friend, Jennie; daughters, Teresa and Joanne (Joe), son Richard (Paulette), grandchildren, Jimmy (Alayna), Kristy (Jared), Jonathan (Alphonsine), Vanessa (Matt), Billy, Matthew, Thomas, Dallas, and great-grandchildren, Tristan, Skylar, Kaydee, Hunter, Chase, Julia, Sophia and Emilia; also, his brother Kaz (Barbara), and nephews and nieces. Dad was born in Poland and came to Canada in 1950 and became a Canadian citizen in 1955. He worked at C.P. Rail for 35 years as a carman. He retired 33 years ago and enjoyed every day of it. He made some lifelong friends whom he had coffee with every day at Garden City Mall. He went there every day and, of course, to Smitty's as well. Dad loved his family and enjoyed our times together. His passions were fishing and gardening. He loved to go fishing with his friends and grandchildren. He had a green thumb for his massive plants and tomatoes. Dad also made the best homemade pickles. He always had jars made ready for us to pick up anytime. Dad, you will be so deeply missed. You now are at peace in Heaven with your other family. Never a day will go by without you in our thoughts and prayers. Until we meet again, we love you and will hold you in our hearts forever. Thank you to the wonderful doctors, nurses and aides for all your devotion and care at Concordia Hospital N1 North and N1 South. A celebration of Walter's life will be held on Saturday, January 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
