Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEANNE ELIZABETH MULVENNA Jeanne Elizabeth Mulvenna passed away on February 12, 2019 at West Park Manor surrounded by her family. Jeanne was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN to James and Susan Quinn. She was a loving sister to Mimi, Eileen, Rita, Betty, John and Paul. When she was a child the family moved to Chicago's south side. In her high school days Jeanne was the editor of the school newspaper and a member of the American Honor Society. She met Chuck Mulvenna and they married on August 21, 1948. The family lived in Chicago, IL (Pat), Portland, OR (Al), Oakland, CA (Chuck and Jim), Calgary, AB (Tom and Mary-Jeanne) before settling in Winnipeg, MB (Julie Sue) in 1965. After her husband passed away in 1973, Jeanne re-entered the workforce. She worked at St. James Industries for 35 years retiring as its Executive Director. St. James Industries found employment for mentally and physically challenged adults in Winnipeg, MB. After Chuck's untimely death Jeanne successfully kept the family together and ensured that all her children went to University. Jeanne also actively supported the St. Charles Parish on a weekly basis for over 50 years. She relished her weekly lectoring duties and was a contributing parishioner. Jeanne was a faithful member of the Y, and was usually the first in line waiting to get in at opening every morning. She was the first member to log miles to run from Winnipeg to Thompson, Manitoba. For 35 years, Jeanne was the impetus for the Bomber Breakfast which supported school programming and supportive employment. Jeanne will be sorely missed by her children: Pat (Phil), Al (Margaret), Chuck (Cathy), Tom (Wendy), Mary-Jeanne (Mel) and Julie Sue (Trent), grandchildren: Thomas, Genevieve (Tai), Carla (Jeff), Charles (Giulia), Alexis (Thomas), Josh (Evan), Joseph (Kayla), Samantha (Tyler), Louis (Amy), Quinn, McKenzie and Riley, great-grandchildren: Lauren, Jaicob, Belle, Grady, Declan, Ellyiot, Charley and Easton. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband Chuck in 1973 and son Jim in 1999. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on March 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Roman Catholic Parish, 320 St. Charles Street in Winnipeg. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, 320 St. Charles Street. The pallbearers will be Jeanne's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family thanks the caregivers at West Park Manor for making Jeanne comfortable during the last years of her life.

Jeanne was a wonderful woman and we shared the same birth date. January 16. On occasion we celebrated our birthdays together at my parents place. Growing up on Twain Drive was special. And with the Mulvennas it was like having a second family. My condolences to the family. Your mother, grandmother and great grandmother left a legacy you can all be proud of ❤️ - Posted by: Kelly Neufeld (Close family friend) on: Mar 01, 2019

My deepest sympathy to all of the Mulvenna family. I had the privilege of working with Jeanne through the late 1970s when we both worked for CAMR, Manitoba. She became a great friend, we participated in Toastmasters together and Jeanne hosted our staff several times at her home. In recent years I would see Jeanne at various gatherings re persons with disabilities and we always made a connection. Jeanne contributed so much to the community and was always a strong advocate on many issues. - Posted by: Clare Simpson (Friend and co-worker) on: Feb 28, 2019

Jeanne was a great friend to our mother when she was in East Park Manor a few years ago and often checked in on her, kept her company and had lunch with her although our mother's English was difficult to follow at times. Jeanne was a great person and will be missed by all that had the priviledge of knowing her. - Posted by: The Antonietta Perillo Family (Friend) on: Feb 23, 2019
