LOUISE ENNS (UNGER) 1935 - 2019 Born to Leonhard Unger and Helene Krause from Einlage: one of the Mennonite settlements in the Chortiza area of the USSR - now Ukraine. In February 1938 - Leonhard was taken to Siberia. In October 1943 - Helene and her three children (Herb, Vally and Louise) left Russia with the retreating German army. They immigrated to Canada in 1948, sponsored by Helene's sister, Elizabeth and John Penner. The nine day trip to Halifax on the S.S. Heintzelman culminated in a four day train ride to Winnipeg. They arrived filthy, hungry and since it was Sunday morning - went straight to church. Louise finished grade 10 and started a summer job at Great West Life at age 16. She quit school when GWL offered her a full-time job and she got to wear a suit every day. Louise met Hal Enns at South End Mennonite Brethren Church and they married on August 6, 1955. Mom worked outside the home at Lions Manor and Eastview Community Church, as well as being Dad's Executive Assistant for their many endeavours. They travelled extensively. After Dad's accident in 1986, Mom's full-time job became primary caregiver to Dad. They sold their home in the country and moved to Stornoway at 1880 Henderson Hwy. - where Mom lived until now. Mom was predeceased by Helene in 1979; Herb in 1988; Vally in 1997 and Hal in 2012. Her eight children, 15 grandchildren and nearly nine great-grandchildren will miss her dearly. Mom had a strong, lifelong faith in Jesus Christ. She looked forward to seeing him with great anticipation and her unwavering faith made her passing much easier on all of us. She is survived by her children, Kerry (Lori) Enns, Brad (Joanne) Enns, Vic (Pat) Enns and Vera (Rich) Thiessen; her grandchildren, Nikki (Steve), Mark (Stephanie), Stacey (Jason), Thomas, Samara, Taylor (Kristin), Andrew, Marlee (Jordan), Chad (Madison); and her great-grandchildren, Ember, Macy, Everly, Bentley, Jasper, Rosie and Charlie Private family service was held at LaSalle Cemetery. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all - Proverbs 31
