HENRY FRANK GEBEL June 13, 1930 - March 26, 2019 On March 26, 2019, in his sleep, Henry peacefully left this life. Henry leaves behind daughters, Christine, O.L.M., Cathy (Kelly) and granddaughter Nikki. He was predeceased by his wife Maryann; parents, Franz Gebel and Margaretha Scholz; brothers, Christoph and Alois; and sister Carola; infant children, Louise, Peter and Paul. Henry was born in Hausdorf, Schlesien in Germany and immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada, where he met Maryann and they married on September 3, 1960. He was active in church activities and always ready to give a helping hand to anyone who needed a favour. Henry was a good father, joining in on camping trips with the Campfire Girls and making his daughters a little playhouse and treehouse in the backyard. Henry also volunteered many years at the Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba. He was overjoyed to become "Opa" to Nikki in 2000. He saved his last "I love you" and smile just for Nikki. Our thanks to all the kind people who supported Henry at The Maples Personal Care Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 1, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 250 Burrin Avenue. A private interment to follow at a later date.
