Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE LANGELOTZ Anne Langelotz (nee Kornelsen) was born on September 20, 1933, in Alexandrowka, Russia. Her mother Maria, a war widow, fled Russia after the war and travelled to Canada in 1951 with her three children. In Winnipeg, Anne met another immigrant, Walter Langelotz, and they married on February 12, 1955. This union led to three children, Heidi, Rolf and Karl. As longtime members at Springfield Heights Mennonite Church, their lives revolved around the church. Friends, relatives and leisure activities all had church connections. Like many women of her generation, Anne embraced the role of housewife. Preparing meals and hosting gave her much pleasure. Anne sang in the church choir and volunteered in various capacities. After Walter retired, they enjoyed many years together travelling, going for walks and spending time at their Lee River cottage. Long swims together on hot summer days; this was her happy place. It was hard for Anne to go back to the cottage after Walter died in 2014. With nearly 60 years together, the apartment and cottage seemed very empty. But she was able to find joy in her family now full of grand and even great-grandchildren and her good friends and church family. Unfortunately, a number of serious falls in the past year led to a dramatic decrease in her mobility. Numerous hospital stays finally brought her to Bethania Personal Care Home, where she was just beginning to feel at home. Unfortunately, a final stroke and seizure on March 17 proved too much. Anne died peacefully on the morning of March 29, 2019. She was predeceased by her mother Maria, husband Walter, brothers, Heinrich (Isaak) and Jakob Kornelsen and her grandson Isaak Langelotz. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Gunther Kankel, sister-in-law Mary Kornelsen, children, Heidi (George), Rolf (Alana) and Karl (Marla), and numerous grand and great-grandchildren. All are welcome to join us for the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Springfield Heights Mennonite Church, 570 Sharron Bay. A private family interment will be held prior to the service. Many thanks to the caring staff at Bethania and all the hospital workers; they truly do wonderful work.
