Derek was a beautiful happy guy who rented a few doors down from Leona and I when we were all holidaying at the Hospitality Suites over the years in Scottsdale. He loved the pool, the sun and Happy Hour, once hosted by the previous owner of the Resort. We will always remember Derek’s welcome greeting when we returned from a “day on the town”! He will be remembered as a “one of a kind, sweet, kinda guy”, gone too soon, Rest in Peace dear Derek🕊 - Posted by: Peggy simenson (Friend) on: Apr 06, 2019

My condolences to Vicky and family. Norm always enjoyed sitting and talking to Derek on our many visits back to Wpg. I will always remember Derek with a grin on his face and always happy to see Norm and I. My thoughts are with you all. - Posted by: norma moulder (aunt) on: Apr 06, 2019

Fondest memories of this man. My Uncle Derek was always into the coolest stuff. He had a lust for life, and called it how he seen it. If he wasn't driving his Truck, he was working on a project, or thinking of his next destination. He did it all with passion. Rest easy, you will be missed!!!!!! - Posted by: Curtis (Nephew) on: Apr 06, 2019

We were so glad that we became friends quite a few years ago, the nicest man you could ever wish to meet. So many happy hours together in Scottsdale. I will never forget what I thought might be the last time we would meet as I took you, Cindy and Vicky to the airport for your trip home in February of 2017. We were planning our return to live back in UK. A few weeks later me and Sue were sitting outside our apartment enjoying the sunshine when I said to Sue that man walking passed the swimming pool coming towards us looks just like Derek and the lady behind him looks just like Cindy and the next lady looks just like Vicky. It is them we both shouted. Bad weather in Winnipeg meant that you were not able to work yet so we got the nicest surprise we ever had. You will be missed so much by everyone that knew you. - Posted by: Steve Kendrick (Frend) on: Apr 06, 2019
