MARGARET KILIWNIK
(nee CHUPA)
February 11, 1930 - March 31, 2019
She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children, Sherry (Dave), Rob (Tammy), Michelle (Andrew) and also by her grandchildren who she absolutely adored, Ariel (Justin and Christian), Serena (Kasper) and Evan.
Mom will also be missed by her brothers and sister, Leo Chupa, Stella Krawchuk and Ted Chupa; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
The family would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts, Mom's neighbour and best friend Mary Kiazyk for being a kind, considerate, compassionate and all around wonderful person, who was instrumental in helping care for Mom and supporting us kids as well.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Tony Chupa; her stepfather Frank Krawchuk; her husband Tony; brother Mike and sister Sonia.
Mom was an amazing cook and baker making numerous dishes such as perogies, holupchi, borscht, perishke, headcheese, chicken soup with her homemade noodles, pies and shake and bake chicken wings just to name a few.
Over the years she loved tending to her vegetable and flower gardens and sitting outside on her swing enjoying the fresh air.
She adored having all visitors. Her home was always open to everyone. Baba was especially fond of her sleepovers and chicken, pizza and gossip nights with her grandkids.
She loved watching the Winnipeg Jets and Bombers. She enjoyed listening to country music and watching The Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right and the Young and the Restless.
Mom's memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
A very special thank you to Dr. Peter Kuegle who went beyond the call of duty by making house calls when Mom's mobility started to decline.
