GERHARD ERNST (ERNIE)
NEUFELD (SR.)

On April 5, 2019, our husband, dad, grandpa, and opa, Gerhard Ernst (Ernie) Neufeld (Sr.) passed away after a short stay in St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 86. While we grieve our loss, we also rejoice at heaven's gain.
Ernie will be lovely remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Martha Neufeld (nee Dick); children, John Neufeld (Randi), Cathy Dyck (Gerry), Ernie Neufeld (Janet), and Barbara Campbell (Richard); 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Nikolas and Susanna Neufeld; two brothers, Nick and John; and one sister Margaret.
Funeral service to be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Portage Avenue Church, 1420 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee in Ernie's name.

  • So sorry Aunt Martha, and family.... to hear of Uncle Ernie's passing...our heart felt condolences. Our memories are from the later years of his life. I, Erica remember his smile, it lite up his face and to me, often seemed mischievous. We appreciated the times when you two came to Calgary and we had a chance at a quick visit. They were nice times.   • Just heard of Ernie's passing. I'm reflecting on the friendships our families have shared over the years, beginning with when Ernie and my father as boyhood friends, times at the lake, and Ernie's sincere interest in touching base whenever we were back in Winnipeg.
